Wax Range — PE, PP, Fischer-Tropsch & Modified

PVC Additives / Lubricant Waxes

Wax Range — PE, PP, Fischer-Tropsch & Modified

Seven wax families supplied from Chinese production against declared softening point, melt viscosity and penetration. Whether you need an external lubricant for a rigid PVC line, a dispersant for colour masterbatch, or a polar modified wax for engineering plastics, the selection starts from two numbers: softening point and melt viscosity.

The range

Seven families, one supply desk

Base waxes are non-polar and work mainly as external lubricants and dispersants. Modified waxes carry polar functional groups, which gives them affinity for pigments, fillers and engineering polymers.

CV-PEW

PE Wax

Low molecular weight polyethylene, MW below 10,000. Internal and external lubricant, release agent, surface brightener and pigment dispersant.

CV-PPW

PP Wax

Higher softening point than PE wax — for high-temperature processing and engineering plastics.

CV-FTW

Fischer-Tropsch Wax

Straight-chain paraffin synthesised from CO and H₂. High melting point with extremely low melt viscosity.

CV-OPW

Oxidised PE Wax

Oxidised to introduce polar groups. Stronger pigment wetting, better emulsification and weather resistance.

CV-MGW

Maleic Grafted Wax

Maleic anhydride grafted PE and PP wax. Coupling and dispersion in filled and engineering compounds.

CV-EMW

Ester / Montan-type Wax

Esterified and saponified polyfatty acid esters — a route to replace montan wax.

CV-CPW

Chlorinated Paraffin

Liquid auxiliary plasticiser for PVC processing and PU foam.

PE & PP Wax

Polyethylene and polypropylene wax

PE wax is low molecular weight polyethylene — either polymerised directly from ethylene or produced by cracking PE resin under high temperature and pressure. The production route and the molecular weight distribution decide the physical indicators, which is why two grades at the same softening point can behave differently on the line. Non-toxic, odourless, non-corrosive, chemically stable and compatible with most resins.

Used as a dispersing lubricant in colour and filler masterbatch; as an external lubricant in PVC profile, pipe and moulded parts, where it raises toughness, surface gloss and ageing resistance; as a pigment dispersant in inks and paints; in hot-melt adhesives and road marking paint; and in floor, car and polishing waxes.

Fischer-Tropsch

Fischer-Tropsch wax

Synthesised from CO and H₂ into straight-chain paraffin. Structurally similar to paraffin wax but with a high melting point and extremely low melt viscosity — the combination that lets it run at 40–50% lower dosage than ordinary PE wax while raising surface gloss.

As an external lubricant for PVC the low viscosity raises line speed and improves pigment dispersion, particularly in high-viscosity extrusion. In dark masterbatch it wets pigment efficiently and lowers extrusion viscosity. In micronised form it improves wear and scratch resistance in inks and lowers screw torque in powder coating. For EVA hot-melt it shortens open time, raises heat resistance and increases bond strength.

Modified

Oxidised, grafted and ester waxes

Modified waxes are produced by oxidising, chlorinating or grafting a base wax. Introducing polar functional groups gives strong affinity for polar molecules, higher weather resistance, better emulsifying behaviour and improved dispersion and internal/external lubrication — the reason they dominate in engineering plastics where a non-polar wax would simply migrate.

Typical use: wax emulsions, masterbatch, PVC processing (especially foamed products and film), EVA/HMA, engineering plastics modification, asphalt modification and coatings.

Custom

Application-specific wax

Where a standard grade does not fit the line, blends are formulated against the target application.

ApplicationWhat the wax is tuned for
MasterbatchDispersion and lubrication in filler masterbatch; low exudation
PVC processingExternal lubricant with delayed fusion effect and high surface gloss
Powder coatingImproved processing, lower screw torque, better flow-out and scratch resistance

Road marking paintHigher solidification point, stain and scratch resistance, anti-settling
AsphaltRoad and roofing waterproof asphalt modification
WPC / SPCLubrication and filler dispersion in wood-plastic and stone-plastic composite

Selection

How to choose

Two parameters do most of the work. Softening or melt point decides how far into the barrel lubrication is held — higher suits high-temperature extrusion. Melt viscosity decides wetting speed — lower wets pigment and filler faster, which is what masterbatch needs.

If the formulation is pigment-heavy or contains polar polymer, start from an oxidised or grafted grade rather than a base wax. If you are replacing a wax you already buy, send us its softening point, melt viscosity and acid value and we will match it against an equivalent grade rather than propose the nearest one in stock.
