PVC Resin
PVC resin is specified by K-value, not by brand. The K-value describes the molecular weight of the polymer and therefore decides melt viscosity, fusion behaviour and the mechanical properties you can reach. Buying to a declared K-value — and receiving a lot-level certificate that confirms it — is the difference between a stable line and a permanent troubleshooting exercise.
K-value and grade selection

SG-5 covers the majority of rigid extrusion. Move up in K-value only when you need mechanical performance the line can still process; move down when fusion time or torque is the constraint.

Specifications that matter on arrival
- K-value / viscosity number — the primary identity of the grade
- Volatile matter — moisture drives porosity and surface defects
- Apparent bulk density — affects extruder output and dosing accuracy
- Plasticiser absorption — critical for flexible and cable compounds
- Impurity and fish-eye count — the practical measure of resin cleanliness
- Residual VCM — regulatory requirement for food-contact and potable water
