Grade profile
A chloride-process rutile pigment with zirconia and alumina treatment and very high rutile content. The chloride route gives a narrower particle size distribution than the sulphate route, which is the underlying reason for its cleaner undertone and higher gloss potential.
Where it fits
A multipurpose position: coatings, plastics, rubber, printing ink and synthetic leather. It is the grade to start from when a customer works across several systems and wants one pigment on the shelf rather than four.
Chloride or sulphate?
Chloride grades generally carry a price premium and earn it in gloss, undertone and batch consistency. Where the end product is opaque, filled and not colour-critical, a sulphate grade often does the same job for less. Tell us the application and we will say which one we would buy.
